Homemade Healthy Waffles: Recipe Included.
All ingredients are organic and purchased from Nature's Fare off Highway 97. PRO TIP: I use a sauce brush to add butter and syrup to my waffles to minimize how much I put on.
1 1/4 cups All Purpose Flour
3/4 cup Golden Flax Meal
1/2 cup Almond Meal
1/4 cup buttermilk powder
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
4 tsps baking powder
Mix all these ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. In a separate smaller bowl beat the eggs with a whisk then add the rest of the ingredients listed.
2 whole eggs, 1 egg yolk
1 tblsp sourcream (optional, helps make them fluffier)
1 1/2 cups milk
Mix the liquid ingredients together then whisk into the larger mixing bowl and whisk everything together. I use about 3/4 of a cup of mix per waffle in my Oster waffle iron. PRO TIP: Once I've made my daughter's waffle (12 month old) I add 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of almond essence to the mix for myself and my wife.
